Transformation

Well it has taken me about 7 months but I'm finally posting pictures of our bathroom renovations! I know that my posts have been rather infrequent and long-winded lately, but this one is mostly pictures and the text is in bullet points!

The real challenge of this renovation was that we were evicted from our house (with no functional bath, shower, or toilets upstairs)... oh and did I mention I was 9.5 months pregnant?

Highlights:

  • We worked so hard and had all of our selections and materials ordered and selected before demolition even started

  • We loved our contractor (CHART Home) and our project manager Matt - they were timely, responsive and friendly, and the quality of their work was fantastic

  • My parents were living at their cottage so we thankfully had somewhere to live

  • Moved back into our house before having a baby (mind you, he arrived 8 days late)

Lessons Learned:

  • If you're going to renovate both of your bathrooms, and move plumbing and walls, be prepared to move out

  • Don't plan a major renovation to be completed the same week you are due to have a baby and expect it to be on time

  • If you're going to put this amount of effort and money into something, don't cut corners to save a hundred dollars here and there. Do it right. It will be worth it.

Anyway, enjoy these before and after pictures. We are certainly enjoying our new bathrooms!
